Privacy Policy for Vesti
Last updated: March 20, 2026
This page is the public privacy policy for the Vesti Chrome extension and is intended to be used as the direct privacy policy URL in the Chrome Web Store.
What Vesti collects and where it is stored
Vesti captures text content from conversations you have on supported AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, DeepSeek, Qwen, Doubao, Kimi, and Yuanbao. This data is primarily stored locally in your browser's IndexedDB and extension storage on your device.
Vesti may also store locally generated or user-configured data needed to operate the extension, including summaries, embeddings, tags, notes, folder assignments, feature settings, API configuration, proxy configuration, and optional integration settings.
Vesti does not require a Vesti account.
What may leave your device
Most captured conversation data remains local on your device unless you use a feature that sends selected content to an external service.
AI-powered processing
When you use AI-powered features such as summaries, semantic retrieval, knowledge Q&A, embeddings, or related analysis, relevant conversation text may be sent to an external inference route. Depending on your settings and the active feature path, requests may be sent either:
- directly to ModelScope; or
- to a Vesti proxy endpoint, which may relay the request to its configured upstream provider.
If you choose to configure your own credentials, those credentials may be sent only as needed to authenticate your requests.
Notion integration and export
If you connect Notion, authorization data may be exchanged with Notion and a Vesti proxy endpoint to complete the OAuth flow. If you use Export to Notion, the selected note and any linked conversation excerpt needed for that export are sent to the Notion API using your configured Notion credentials and destination database.
No sale of personal data
Vesti does not sell your personal data and does not use captured conversation data for advertising.
Permissions and why they are needed
Vesti requests access to supported AI platform pages solely to detect, parse, and capture conversation content through DOM observation so it can provide its local-first conversation memory features.
Vesti uses local storage and IndexedDB to store captured conversations and related metadata on your device. Vesti uses side panel and offscreen capabilities to render the extension UI and perform background processing. If you enable an identity-based integration flow, that permission is used only for that integration.
Tab URL and page context may be processed transiently for parser selection, routing, and platform detection. They are not sold and are not used for advertising.
Your choices and rights
You can delete locally stored data at any time from the extension's Data Management panel (Settings > Data > Clear All). Uninstalling the extension removes locally stored extension data from your browser.
If you send content to an external service through an optional feature, that external service may retain and process the data under its own policies.
